Here at LEC, we provide education and enrichment for home-educating families through our Fellowship program and our Apprenticeship classes.
In addition to our student program, we seek to equip and strengthen our local community by offering Charlotte Mason style retreats and Mother’s Education Courses, all of which are open to friends of LEC.
Living Education Collective is a grassroots movement of local home-educating families that have united to pursue all that is true, beautiful and good together in community for the glory of God.
We are a classical, Charlotte Mason style microschool.
Students are dropped off, taught by paid educators and assisted by parent volunteers.
We are a diverse, ecumenical community united in our love for Jesus, our unwillingness to remove God from education and our high emphasis on virtue and moral character.
Our weekly Fellowship meets every Wednesday on a campus in Ojai, CA.
Our Apprenticeship classes are offered on Friday (with some exceptions) in Ventura and the surrounding areas.
Our program runs for 30 weeks each academic year. Every 7th week we take a Sabbath.
We currently accept students Year 0 (age 5 by Sept 30) through Year 10.
Primary classes are kept intentionally small with a max of 10 students per class. Upper school classes have a 12 student max.
If you are local to Ventura County and looking to grow and go deeper in your understanding and implementation of Charlotte Mason’s philosophy and principles, then you have come to the right place! Join us as we dive in, study Mason’s original works and hold deep conversations about what it looks like to apply these principles in real life.
